SXL - Arden Oxley - The Canny Combantant

BEHOLD. My Sixfold Leagues application! I have only been working on it for over two weeks. ;_; Anyhow. I love this group. I hope I can do it justice. GO OCT. Wall of text below.

Trainer Name: Arden Rhys Oxley
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Height: 5’8”
Personality: Brainy with a chip on his shoulder. Attracted to strength because he was a sickly child and has never recovered from it, leaving him lean and his bones easy to break. Incredibly hopelessly socially awkward, which makes him seem anti-social on the surface, but he is actually quite warm when you get to know him. He develops crushes and strong type people all the time, and he doesn’t have a gender preference.

Brief History: His family is originally from Orre, they moved to Severstal in Corus when he was young. They are merchants, ale and spirit makers by trade, and wanted to find a new place to market their wares and Severstal seemed like the best place in the Saros region. Arden was always spoiled and kept inside because of his brittle bones. He has an older brother named Jacob and younger sister named Mason, both healthy. Nip was given to him by his grandparents right after they moved to Saros; his grandfather knew he wouldn’t be able to live the sheltered life his parents wanted for him. Arden has always had a chip on his shoulder to prove himself and be a different person than his family expected him to be, especially because of his illness as a child. He found Chill on a family vacation at the lake, it got left behind its family group as a baby, but didn’t really seem to mind. Arden offered it a snack and Chill liked it enough to hang around. The incredibly relaxed Tirtouga took to swimming in the family pool quickly. He never went to public schools or made many friends as a youth so he is still very socially awkward and doesn’t really know how to talk to people. His parents were strongly against him becoming a Pokémon trainer, for one thing they expected he and his older brother Jacob to go into the family business; for another, he was too weak. He decided to join the Sixfold League to prove to his family that he isn’t just a sick weakling any more. He only found Kernel after coming to Arcelor and moving into the dorms. Some gang was attacking the poor, undersized, bonsly, dumping pitcher after pitcher of water on it while laughing. He jumped in to rescue it but not before the bonsly had developed a large crack in its shell. He also broke his arm so he has to wear a brace until it heals. Since then Kernel has been totally in love with Arden, following him everywhere and refusing to go in his pokéball.

Misc:
-Develops crushes easily and frequently, usually on strong types, doesn’t have a gender preference.
-Currently his biggest two crushes are Dalaigh and Avee.
-Almost always wears his bowler hat.
-He has perpetual dark circles under his eyes from his illness.
-His grandparents gave him a set of scizor-themed armor when he told them he was joining the tournament, but he doesn’t like to wear it because it’s so heavy.

Misc: Nip was Arden’s first Pokémon, he got her as an egg from his grandparents in Orre right after his family moved to Saros. She’s smart, strong and wants to do her best to fight for Arden, knowing he can’t do the fighting himself. Very protective of him. Shiny, Likes Spicy Flavors, HT/WT 5’9”, 260lbs

Gender: Male
Nature: Lax
Characteristic: Likes to Relax
Ability: Solid Rock
Moveset: Bulldoze, Stone Edge, Aqua Tail, Blizzard
Misc: Arden’s second Pokémon, he found the baby tirtouga when he was 7 on a family trip to the Lake in Corus, and the turtle bit him after he offered him a snack. Chill has always been very mellow, he doesn’t get worked up just likes to hang and relax. It takes a lot to get him fired up. He evolved one day at complete surprise to Arden. Likes Sour Flavors, HT/WT 4’2” 178lbs

Nature: Mild
Characteristic: Good Perseverance
Ability: Sturdy
Moveset: Mimic, Slam, Rock Tomb, Feint Attack
Misc: Kernel is Arden’s youngest Pokémon, having only found him since moving to the dorms in Arcelor. Since he rescued the bonsly from near certain death, Kernel refuses to leave Arden’s side. Likes Mild Flavors, HT/WT 1’5” 30lbs
