Behruz, he's a mermaid. He lives in ~demica's Hallow Tempest RPG.

He's got clownfish stripes, because I've liked clownfishes since before Finding Nemo came out. (Take that Disney!) Mostly just cos they're orange, and orange is my favorite. Behruz is missing two and a half of the fingers on his right hand. I don't think I like the way it looks in this image. He also farms octupi. Merpeople don't eat meat in this world (well, not the *good* merpeople, just the eebil ones) so he just farms them for company. Did you know octupi have intelligence comparable to the average housecat? Also cephalopod is fun to say.

The things I'm most concerned about in this image are the background/lack there of, and the overall tonality of the piece. I'm worried it's too low contrast. Any critique on anatomy would be appreciated as well.

Ooo, I like this! I just like his design. Love the little horns. And that he's playing with an octopus. :)

(Fun fact of the day: while the most common plural of "octopus" in English is "octopi", if you go back to the word's roots, that's actually incorrect. -i is a Latin ending, while "octopus" is a Greek word. So the "correct" plural should actually be "octopodes", pronounced "ak-TOE-po-dees". Of course, this is so archaic that almost nobody knows it and they would look at you funny if you tried to use it. But it's awfully fun to say!)

Thank you!

I did not know that! Well I knew that dictionary.com said I should uses octopuses as plural, but that just sounds... dirty... which was my reasoning for choosing octopi, heh.

I need to find a way to work "octopodes" into the rp now. :D

I love the picture, especially the shades of gray you got into it and the gentle expression while he plays with the lil eight leggy!

I really like to detail you put into the picture not to mention the time it must have taken to do all the shading ^^

Awesome job !

Heee. I always loved the idea behind them, the concept of their tail color indicating social caste... and then having to buck the traditions and such. :D yaaay sayra.
