The System is BrokenTypically I become irritated when I listen to people complain about the government of the United States. They're angry because this criminal got off, the courts are broken. Government moves too slowly, surely there's some way to speed things along. And so on the gripes continue without any real regard for the reasons why it functions in this fashion. These things are the unfortunate but necessary consequences of a Democratic Republic however. That criminal we're so sure is guilty deserves his defense, and his legal innocence is the price we pay for the same chance at acquittal we ourselves would hope for should be find ourselves in the same circumstance. The slow grinding gears of bureaucracy is the mechanism the founders put in place to ensure that reason, and not passion, won the day, because all too often in the past passion is what brought down the great nations of history.The System is Broken by ~j0hnyd
